Teresa Sam won the first Miss Vietnam United Kingdom beauty contest held in London Sunday, earning a ticket to the upcoming Miss Vietnam World pageant in Vietnam.
The second and third places were won respectively by Ngo Thi Phuong Lan, an international relations student in Switzerland, and Sonia Thuy Vi Bui. They too will join Teresa at the Miss Vietnam World pageant.
The contest was organized by Tri Thuc Viet Magazine at The O2 (formerly the Millennium Dome).
The 30 contestants included overseas Vietnamese living in the UK, and Vietnamese students studying in the UK, France, Germany, and Switzerland. Though some of them could not speak Vietnamese fluently, they had to answer in that language.

20-year-old Truong Ho Phuong Nga has recently won the highest honour at Miss Vietnam Russia 2007 organised by the Vietnamese Embassy and other Vietnamese organization in Russia.
student from Moscow Business Management University, Phuong Nga is 1.63 m tall and weighs 43 kg. Her body measurements are 83-60-86. She also won a prize for her answer in the question-and-answer part.
Along with the other four winners, including the first and second runners-up, Pham Phuong Anh and Le Thu Huyen, Phuong Nga will take part in the final round of Miss Vietnam SNG to be held from August 1-8 in Ukraine. 3 contestants from this pageant will then travel to Nha Trang city to compete in the Miss Vietnam International 2007 final.
15 girls from 18 to 24 years of age competed in the final night of Miss Vietnam Russia held on July 24 that included Vietnamese traditional dress, swimsuit, evening gown and question-and-answer categories
